The Dunton Dynamos teams!
Dunton
Dynamos Football Club is fielding four teams this season (2006/7). We
have brand new teams at Under 6 and Under 7 level, an established Under
10 team and an Under 11 side playing in an 11-a-side league for the first
time in their careers. Our successful Under 16 girls' side is taking a
break this season due to restrictions placed on them by the various academies
they play for, though they will no-doubt play a couple of friendly exhibition
matches.
Under 6s (2006/7)
Our
U6 team was formed in the spring of 2006 almost by accident. The club
had intended only to start a new U7 team, but we were absolutely inundated
with requests to set-up an U6 side - and so it came to pass!
The team is coached by Dave Chesney with the assistance of many enthusiastic parents. Much of the training through the summer months has been done outside
Here's the first picture of our U6 team in their new kit. Click on the image for a larger version. The kit is sponsored by D.R. Chesney decorators - a business run by team coach Dave Chesney. Our thanks to Dave for his generous donation enabling us to purchase the kit.
The team will be playing friendlies this season as preparation for joining the Thundermite League next season in the U7 league. If you represent an U6 or U7 team and fancy a game, give Dave a call. We have a pitch available most weekends - we look forward to hearing from you!
Under 7s (2006/7)
The Under 7 squad is managed by Justin Keable, with coaching assistance provided by Rick Bater, who has plenty of experience in this field having previously coached our present U10 squad.
Under 10s (2006/7)
This team formed in the 2003-04 season, and now play in the Thundermite U10 League. When first formed, the team was managed by Ron Allwood, with coaching assistance provided by Rick Bater and Paul Stansfield. Rick took over as manager in the Summer of 2005 after Ron left to follow his eldest son at Trinity United. After about five games of the present season (2006/7) Rick and his son left to pursue other interests. Paul Stansfield took over responsibility for the team with much assistance from players' parents! Richard Burgess volunteered his services to assist with the coaching of the players - bringing the required level of continuity to training sessions as Paul couldn't always attend (being a shift-worker).

The team itself has remained largely unchanged over the last few years. The most recent changes however were Jack leaving to pursue other interests (thought to be basketball), Adam emigrating during October 2006 and . John Burgess joined us shortly after from Signet United and brought our numbers back up to ten.
The team is playing its final year in the mini-soccer format and will therefore be required to make the transition to a full 11-a-side squad next season. We'll be looking to strengthen our squad ready for next season - we'll be conducting trials in the Spring/Summer months. If you're interested in joining us, contact Paul nearer the time.
A generous donation by Mr. Allwood (the father of previous manager Ron Allwood) in the Summer of 2005 enabled the team to buy new "home" shirts. Manufactured by Prostar, the shirts are predominantly blue with red trim and white piping. Each shirt has an embroidered club logo and really look the part. Matching shorts and socks have been supplied by the club. Our thanks go to Mr Allwood for his generous donation and to SX Sports in Canvey for providing such a professional service supplying the kit. This kit has served us well over the last two seasons, but will be replaced at the end of the present season.
Later that season, Mushtaq Master's employer (BP / CAF) made a generous donation enabling us to buy all the players a track suit and woolen hat for those crispy winter mornings! It's donations / sponsorship arrangements such as this which enables us to keep going and is also a morale booster for the players who turn out looking like professionals every week!
Like the professional clubs, we'll be looking to buy a new home kit every two seasons, and a new away kit in alternate years if possible. If any potential sponsors are therefore interested in getting their names emblazoned across our shirts, please let us know.
Under 11s (2006/7)
Our U11 team are playing their first competitive season as an 11-a-side outfit, having made the transition from mini-Soccer. The team is managed and coached by Paul English and currently plays its football in the Thundermite Premier League at this age level.

The side formed in 2002 – 2003 season and started very well, with all matches being played as friendlies in the first year. The first competitive season saw Dunton securing runners up spot in the 2nd division and gaining promotion to the top division.
During our first season in the top division we played with passion and enthusiasm throughout but struggled to score goals and unfortunately finished bottom of the table, although the defense and midfield grew from strength to strength.
Season 2005 – 2006 saw the loss of our strongest player moving to Spain and a couple of other regulars moving to other local clubs. However all concerned with the team rallied together to ensure we stayed together as a team and we managed to sign a new player to secure our future for now. Due to a re shuffle in the Thundermite league we have remained in the top division and still fighting hard.
The team kit has been sponsored by Jim Bax and his colleagues at Alucraft Limited. A special thank you from all at Dunton Dynamos for your continued support!
As with our current under 9 squad, we are continually looking for ways to further develop our players and are in the process of recruiting a professional coach to train the squad. Unfortunately Grassroots are fully booked so other avenues are being pursued.
Last year the club contributed to several coaches undertaking the Level 1 F.A. Coaching course, which Paul completed. As part of our continued development, Level 2 will be researched in the near future.
Paul has held the reins of this team since the very beginning. When the team formed 4 years ago, many of these players had never really kicked a ball in a match before, but a lot of time, hard work and sweat has arguably produced some of the best players in the local area.
When interviewed, Paul had this to say...
"As a small club in the local area it has always been difficult to attract players, but we have managed to keep a strong nucleus of players with 6 remaining loyal throughout during the mini-soccer years. New players were brought in at the start of the season to enable us to make the transition to 11-a-side football. The team appears to be pulling together more than ever before with the enthusiasm and effort far surpassing that of recent years."
"The parents and families of the players have really rallied behind the team as well, and the support is better than ever before."
"We have a great bunch of lads at this team with a variety of strengths and abilities, but probably the best team spirit in the league. All the parents are now showing greater enthusiasm than ever before, which encourages the lads enormously."
"A special thank you goes out to all our parents and supporters for their continued enthusiasm and support throughout. And also to Jim Bax for his continued sponsorship of the team."
