Match Report
Shield Academy 0 - 10 Dunton Dynamos
League game - 1st February 2009; Conditions: Bitterly cold, snow blizzards, biting wind, but apart from that….
In probably the worst playing conditions of the season, Dynamos warmed to the occasion and thrashed bottom of the league Shield Academy in Hainault as the Big Freeze gripped the country.
On a huge pitch, Dynamos started slowly as they failed to take advantage of the width available to them. Eventually, the boys started to pass the ball around and AJ crossed from the left for Oscar to poke the ball home from close range for the first of many goals.
AJ scored his second soon afterwards, running onto a pass from Jake using his strength to power through the middle before finishing well.
Adam then burst through and struck a wonderful fourth for Dynamos, before AJ scored his first half hat trick just before the break.
Dynamos doubled their tally in the second half with Jack scoring two, Oscar and Joe combined for Joe Williams to net; Oscar then lobbed the keeper for his second and Harry completed the rout following a nice pass from Curtis.
The snow, biting wind and wide open pitch made it most uncomfortable for the viewing parents and very difficult for the players, but it was a confidence building performance as Dynamos continued their march up the table.
