Dunton Dynamos U9 1 - 0 Brentwood Athletic Tigers U9

Cup match - 12th October 2008; Conditions: Mild and warm

A battling performance saw our super U9 side grind out a well-earned victory over a strong Brentwood side to progress through to the next round of the Cup.

Manager Justin Keable said "This was a well battled match in the midday sun, and at last we seem to have found our form, just when it matters. Eight minutes into the second-half saw a great strike by Jon from just inside the opponents' half sending a high ball into the top of Brentwoods net. Then with a great show of defence earning Lucy "Man of the Match" award for the third time this season (come on boys, lets try to get someone else to win it next game!) and a spectacular save from Mark our new keeper, we managed to progress into the second round of our cup competition."

"We also saw some great runs from Thomas P. and Jake, and promise for the future from our new lads on the pitch Jamie and Rhys (last years keeper), well done to all, a great result for the team. Many thanks to Rick for refereeing, and his assistance in looking after our under 7’s in the match today which unfortunately they lost 7 – 0 to Wickford Town."
