Lee Chapel Rockets 1 - 1 Dunton Dynamos

League Match - 17th February 2008; Conditions: Dry and bright, but very cold!

Dave Chesney (Team Manager) reported that our super U7 team ground out a well-earned draw against strong opposition this week. Here's his assessment of what went on....

"This was an excellent game played on a pitch that had only just thawed out. We lost our regular goalie Sam through illness again, so Alex Keable took over in goal but could do nothing to stop Lee Chapel taking the lead in the first five minutes when one of their players hit an unstoppable shot from the edge of the area.

Dunton battled for the rest of the match and were rewarded with a goal from Ethan Perfect with a couple of minutes to go before full-time. The boys were really out of sorts in the first half but were much the stronger team in the second half and a draw was a fair result. Man-of-the-match was Nathan Lawrence."

This young side clearly has a "never-say-die" approach and will always battle until the final whistle. It is hoped that with a full squad next week, the return fixture will go in our favour.
