Grays Athletic 2 - 2 Dunton Dynamos

League Match - 27th January 2008; Conditions: Dry, bright and windy

Dave Chesney (Team Manager) reported that our U7 team achieved another excellent result this week, despite some obvious set-backs....

"Everything was against us this weekend - we lost our goalie Sam Hart before the game as he was ill so Alex Groves had to go in goal, but alex was only available until half time due to a prior engament!

Dunton started really well and Jack Dahler scored another superb goal after ten minutes. We got through to the half-time interval leading 1-0 after Alex had made a fine save right at the end of the half.

After the break we had to put our third choice keeper in goal (Alex Keable), we were now down to the bare bones and straight away Grays came at us. We then gave away a penalty when Alex threw the ball to Owen to take a goal kick after he had just saved it and Owen picked the ball up. The resulting penalty was then saved and the rebound went straight back to the striker for him to smash the ball into the net to level the score at 1-1.

It was all grays by now but from a break-away Dunton got a corner. Ethan Perfect swung the corner straight into the net to give us a 2-1 lead. Grays continued to press and finally scored quite close to the end.

A draw was a very fair result in a great match.
