Match Report

Wilburn Wanderers 2 - 1 Dunton Dynamos

League Match - 29th March 2008; Conditions: Very cold, windy and overcast

Wearing their smart white kit for the first time, Dynamos were unable to perform smart enough on an extremely cold and unpleasant Saturday morning in Thurrock. Dynamos conceded an early goal when a pass through the middle was not dealt with, allowing the Wanderers striker to turn and score easily, Dynamos did equalise when Spencer played a neat ball through to Joe Williams who in turn passed to Sean to score well.

Unfortunately, the score did not stay level for long as Wanderers scored a terrific goal with a fine lob into the top left hand corner to take the tie 2-1 before the break.

Dynamos put on a better performance in the second half, taking advantage of the strong wind which was ruining the match, making it very difficult for all players. Dynamos tried to force the game, but Wanderers posed a real threat with breakaways throughout the half. Most chances fell to Sean, but one effort was hit just over the bar and the Wanderers keeper made a fine save to keep his team in front.

Jack tried his luck from 35 yards, but the ball just stayed too high and went over the bar. Dynamos kept pushing on making the game very open but no goals were scored in the second half and Wanderers won 2-1.
