LTD Rockets 1 - 6 Dunton Dynamos

League Match - 6th January 2008; Conditions: Cold, bright with stiff breeze

Wow! What a fantastic performance to start the New Year. Dynamos tore the Cobras apart with a fine display of attacking football. On the first Sunday in 2008, Dynamos started positively with Harry following up Joe's shot in the box to take an early lead. Sean and AJ worked the channels and Spencer provided able assistance with some astute passing. They really made the Cobras defence and keeper work on this bright, breezy morning.

It didn't take the Dynamos very long to extend their lead with Joe scoring an excellent goal as the ball lofted over the keeper from distance. This gave him the confidence to produce possibly his best performance for the team.

Cobras were restricted to breakaways and they scored from one of them despite Ross getting a hand to the ball to pull a goal back. The boys' heads did not go down though and Jack supported the midfield whenever possible with some good interceptions and passing. He started the move with Sean crossing well for AJ to score.

Sean made a terrific run from the half way line and hit a fantastic shot into the back of the net as Dynamos took a fully deserved 4-1 lead at the break.

In the second half Dynamos exerted the early pressure again. Spencer had a good strike from the edge of the box and again a few moments later he forced the keeper to save well again.

Ross made some good saves on the occasional Cobras attack and Adam, Robert, Curtis and Jonathan cleared well when called upon. Another tricky run from Joe caused havoc in the defence and AJ scored again. His hat trick was a result of a great piece of skill on the half way line and a typical AJ run and shot with pace and power.

All of the boys played their part in making their parents and manager proud. It's amazing how a positive attitude and hard work can produce the very best football at any level.
