LTD Cobras 2 - 2 Dunton Dynamos aet (LTD Cobras win on pens)

Cup Match - 11th November 2007; Conditions: Cold, blustery, showers

After a respectful minutes silence on a cold Remembrance Sunday morning, Dynamos were hoping to take a first step to cup glory. But, after producing their best performance as an eleven a side team since forming last summer, Dynamos still did not progress into the next round of the cup.

From the whistle, the team played wonderful football, with some great passing and movement throughout. In the first half, the defence played well with Robert having one of his better games putting in some solid challenges and clearing well when required. He was ably supported by Curtis, Adam and Jonathan who all made some good tackles and clearances.

In the midfield, Jack, Kieran and Spencer were spraying some terrific through balls for AJ to run onto. Despite this, LTD made a breakaway through the middle and their striker scored to take the lead.

With AJ leading the line well and causing LTD no end of problems, he was finally rewarded when after a terrific shot by Curtis; he turned and slotted home a well deserved equaliser to take the teams level at half time.

After the break, AJ scored his second with a superb breakaway run and turn to score his and Dynamos second of the match. Unfortunately, the team lost some cohesion and it was clear that during the second half it was going to be a struggle to keep the lead.
LTD broke through the middle again to make the scores level at 2-2. It remained that way even after extra time.

The match was settled by a penalty shoot out. Ross made two great saves but unfortunately Jack was our only scorer from the spot and so LTD finally won 2-1 on penalties to go through to the next round.
