Match Report
Essex Royals 3 - 7 Dunton Dynamos
League Match - 7th October 2007; Conditions: Cloudy, mild and dry
The U12’s opened their new league campaign with a well deserved away win, their first ever as an eleven a side team. In fact it was their first league win since last season’s opener.
The team started brightly with AJ causing all sorts of problems for the Royals. Unfortunately, he could not convert the chances into goals in a promising first half.
Royals went in at half time 2-1 up, which was not a true reflection of the state of play. In the second half, AJ found his goal scoring touch and led the line excellently. Sean also came good and struck a fine penalty to level the scores and then he forced the defending team into a fortuitous deflected own goal. Once in front, Dynamos never looked like losing the lead. The defence were well lead by Adam Baker, who continued his impressive start to the season with a solid performance.
The goals flooded in as the game went on. AJ scored two, Kieran another as Spencer and Jack put some terrific through balls for the forwards to latch onto.
It was a confidence boosting win and all the team played their part in making it happen.
