Ockendon Motor Spares 11 - 1 Dunton Dynamos

U11 League Match - 2nd March 2008

With Manager Paul unavailable due to work commitments, team Coach Simon once again took charge four our first encounter this season against the Ockendon side. His job was made none the easier by injuries to key players making them unavailable for selection - Calum was out with a back injury, Cameron was out with a sprained neck muscle and Liam still had his foot in plaster from his previous injury. So, with only eleven to pick from, we knew this would be a tough game once more!

The Dunton side battled hard and were unlucky to be on the receiving end of such a harsh score-line. Sonny cracked one against the crossbar and Billy and Ethan went close early on. Billy did manage to get a well taken consolation goal. In the end though, Ockendon were just too strong for us and deserved their victory.

Man of the match today was Sonny who was unlucky not to score. His energy and drive is clear for all to see and he's settling in nicely to the left-wing role, linking well with his team-mates.

Coach Simon said he was pleased with the overall performance of the team under the circumstances and felt we were unlucky not to score a few more ourselves.

Our thanks go to the Ockendon side for a good game. We've got two further fixtures against this side this season - hopefully we can give a better account of ourselves next time.
