Match Report

Dunton Dynamos 0 - 6 Ockendon Rhinos

U11 League - 4th November 2007

This League match was played on a crisp November morning in bright sunshine. Dunton turned out in their now familiar all-white kit, with the Rhinos playing in their silver and green kit.

Dunton played a new formation of 4-5-1 with Jack, Calum, Billy and Cameron playing across the back, Dave, Ben, George, James and Jordan playing across the midfield and Harry playing up-front. Ethan was "on the bench" during this first period with Calum as team captain for this match.

The Dynamos looked distincly out-of-sorts in the first half and did not appear to have much fight in them. This may have been something to do with them getting used to the new formation, then again it may not - who knows?! In any case, the Rhinos took full advantage and scored four goals in the first half with no reply.

The second-half however was a different story after Simon (the "Hairdryer") had given his half-time team talk. The boys came out in a more purposeful fashion and gave a much better account of themselves. If they'd started that way in the first-half, the result may have been very different. In the end, Rhinos won 6-0.

The game itself was played in good spirits throughout by both sides. The Ockendon side are clearly a well run outfit and will always be a difficult team to beat. The Dynamos know that they can perform better than this across the entire match duration and will be looking to give a better account of themselves in the upcoming games.

Man of the match today was George for his efforts up the centre of our midfield. During the second-half, the whole team played well and deserved at least a goal for their efforts. The less said about the first half, the better!

Well done boys and let's see if we can have an improved start against Ockendon in the return fixture this coming weekend!
