Dunton Dynamos 1 – 4 Hambro Colts

Dynamos started with AJ in an unfamiliar centre half position on a freezing cold Sunday morning at Laindon Recreation Ground and he put in a great performance for the team, but sadly he could not prevent another defeat for the team. Throughout the first half Dynamos could not cope with Hambros set pieces and it was no surprise when the visitors took an early lead when Dynamos from a direct free kick from outside the penalty box. A second followed soon afterwards when a cross/shot from the far right hand corner looped over Ross. The third was from a fierce strike from outside the area as Hambro strolled into a three goal lead at half time. The only Dynamos chance came when a marauding Adam surged down the right wing and cut inside to cross but Jack could not get to the ball quick enough to trouble the keeper.

At half time the boy’s heads were down, but a double substitution was made and the defence appeared to be more compact with Adam continuing to test the Hambro rearguard, with a shot that whizzed over the bar and once again he forced the keeper to block a goal scoring opportunity.

Unfortunately, mid way during the half, the defence did not clear the ball when under pressure and Hambro scored from close range to take a four goal lead. Dynamos kept plugging away and finally scored a rare goal when one of Adams many goal bound efforts was finally rewarded as the ball went in off of the post.

It looked as though Jonathan was to score soon afterwards as he overlapped down the left, beat two players to cut inside the area but struck his shot across the goal as yet again, Dynamos failed to convert their goal scoring opportunities in this match.

So after a poor first half, Dynamos improved their game in the second, but in failing to put away their chances, they are continuing to be punished by the more ruthless opposition.
