Match Report
Dunton Dynamos v Berry Boys (L 0-2)
Weather: Grey autumn morning, very windy
Date: 25th October 2009
Dynamos were up against it from the start when three boys reported sick with the flu before kick off: Harry, Adam and Oscar were all unwell, which meant that the 11 boys who were available would have to play the whole match. Thankfully Joe Thorpe was able to play which at least meant that the team could kick off with eleven players.
Dynamos chose to start against the very strong wind and they were up against it, literally, from the whistle. The conditions were very testing. Needless to say the defence was busier than the attack as Berry Boys took advantage of the situation. The ball was very difficult to control and as soon as it was cleared, it seemed to make its way back where it started!
Ross made a terrific save, diving to his right to prevent Barry Boys from taking an early lead as Robert and Curtis at fullback did their best with the second choice centre back pairing of Jonathan and Jack. All four defended stoutly but a long ball through the middle was not dealt with and the greens took the lead 0-1.

It looked as though that may be the score line at half time, but the defence found it difficult to clear the ball from the left hand corner of the pitch and the Berry Boys number three in midfield lobbed Ross from outside the box to make it 0-2 at the break

Hopes were high at half time that Dynamos would take advantage of the wind in the second half, but they only managed two decent shots on goal. Joe Williams struck a shot from distance which the keeper dealt with and AJ made a dribble and cross which was dealt with and then he tried his luck from the right, but the ball sailed over the crossbar. Dynamos could not break down a hard working Berry Boys defence and so were defeated for the second successive match.
Man of the Match – Jonathan, a towering performance in the centre of defence.
