Welcome to our website
This is the official website of the Dunton Dynamos Football Club. We're based in south-east Essex, with the majority of our players coming from the Dunton and Langdon Hills areas. We have a range of teams covering various age groups and all feature in local leagues, including the Thundermite League and the Southend and District Junior Football League. Our home strip is red shirts with royal blue shorts and socks with white trim, whilst our change shirts are predominantly white.
Does your car need a wash? (Jun 2009)
If so, our U9 side are here to help! On Saturday 27th June 2009 between 11:00am and 15:00 at the Methodist Church on High Road, Langdon Hills, the team will be washing cars to raise money for the club.
Each wash will cost £5 and the proceeds raised will go to help pay for our new pitches. Please bring your car, van or bicycle along to get it sparkling and help support our club!
This event is obviously subject to the weather - if it's pouring with rain, we'll postpone it until another week.
Presentation Evening update (Jun 2009)
Many thanks to everyone who attended the annual presentation awards at the beginning of this month (June). This was a major success both socially and financially for the club with a clear £300 profit made on the night. This money will be used to help fund the new pitch fees and new match-day equipment required (goals, nets, flags, etc).
Committee changes (Jun 2009)
Pete Galliers has now taken over the role of Club Secretary taking on responsibility for much of the administration associated with running the club. In addition, Alison Draper has taken on the role of Social Secretary and has already arranged fundraising events such as the car wash scheme (see above). Julie Hart (who has sons playing in both our U9 and U13 squads) has also volunteered to assist with keeping the website up-to-date (match reports, events, etc). If she's anything like as prolific as she is on Facebook, we can expect great things! We pass on out thanks to these individuals for agreeing to give up some of their valuable time to ensure our club remains one of the best in the area.
New season, new pitch (Jun 2009)
After three seasons using the Great Berry School pitches, the club has now moved its home ground to a new facility just around the corner. The Dunton Dynamos club has secured the exclusive use of the Laindon Recreation Field for the coming season. The deal includes the use of the pavilion hut which we understand has changing and washing facilities (including a toilet). This is a major step forward for our club and will enable us to have the best available facilities for a club of our size. The youth pitch will be full-size with 8ft goals whilst the mini-soccer pitch will be the maximum size permissable. The pitch is located at the end of New Avenue (off Great Berry Lane). The post-code is SS16 6BT. Our thanks go to the Great Berry School for a mutually beneficial partnership during this time and we look forward to making the Laindon Rec' a formidable and impressive venue for our opponents to visit.
New season, new League for youth sides (Jun 2009)
We have now been accepted into the Southend & District Junior Sunday Football League (SJFSL). The league structure next season will comprise five divisions each with approximately ten team. Early indications show we could be pitched against teams such as Wickford Town, Beech United, Ashingdon, Chalkwell United, Copeland Colts, Forest Glade, Hambro Colts, Hullbridge Sports, Leigh Ramblers, Phoenix Boys and Thorpe Bay Rangers. We're therefore expecting a challenging season with fewer gaps in the fixture calendar. Our mini-soccer sides will remain in the Thundermite League for the time being as these age groups are still well represented here.
U13 Players required (Jun 2009)
U13 team coach Paul is seeking to strengthen his present squad with three or four new players. If you're interested in joining this team, and are able to play to a good standard please contact Paul on 01268 411632.
Sponsors required (Jun 2009)
As with every new season, we're always looking to engage new club sponsors. We’ll be looking to purchase a new set of “away” shirts for the coming season, not to mention purchase new goalposts and flags for our new facility (se above). If you are an individual or respresentaive of an organisation prepared to support our club with a sponsorship deal, we’d be very interested. As ever, we’d be happy to apply a corporate logo to our shirts in recognition of the deal as well as advertise the company on our website (which is still getting several thousand hits per month).
